Biographical Text

Son of the artist Erskine Nicol (1825-1904). Exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1890 to 1906, and spent some years in the Middle East, including Egypt. References in Tyndale's 'Artist in Egypt', 1912. In 1894-5 exhibited paintings of Egyptian scenes at the Royal Academy.
